Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Officer to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance at our detergent manufacturing plant in Ikorodu. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in manufacturing safety practices and a solid understanding of HSE regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and compliance measures in line with local and international regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the production environment.
- Develop and lead HSE training sessions for employees to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations for preventive measures.
- Ensure proper waste management and environmental sustainability practices within the facility.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and auditors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain updated records of HSE performance metrics, training, and compliance documentation.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical or detergent industry.
- Certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of local and international safety regulations (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety training, and compliance audits.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
