The 35th annual WorkSafe Awards, which honor occupational health and safety and return to work efforts, have selected 21 finalists from nearly 150 nominations in six award categories.
On February 27, the Park Hyatt Melbourne will host an event where the winners will be revealed.
“Seeing such a diverse mix of workplaces and individuals represented this year was inspiring,” said Joe Calafiore, CEO of WorkSafe.
“Our finalists come from a wide range of industries including construction, education, healthcare, and more,” he said.
“It’s wonderful to see workplace health and safety advancements happening right across the board.”
Mr. Calafiore praised the finalists for pushing the envelope with their innovative safety solutions, whether it was employing artificial intelligence to help avoid falls from heights, creating the first snow ambulances in history, or creating height-adjustable change tables.
“Every year our finalists set new standards in health and safety innovation with fresh ideas that challenge what’s possible,” he said.
“Their efforts are shaping the future of workplace health and safety.”
In addition to highlighting significant accomplishments in preventing workplace mental illness and reintegrating wounded workers into safe and sustainable employment, the awards will showcase a record six candidates in the health and safety representative of the year category.
