An urgent opening is available for an experienced HSE Officer (Offshore) to support a reputable oilfield client in Abu Dhabi. The selected candidate will work on an offshore rotation and play a critical role in ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, implementing safety systems, conducting inspections, and promoting a proactive safety culture on site. Key Responsibilities

As an Offshore HSE Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards across offshore operations. Key duties include:

  • Enforcing company HSE policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans

  • Ensuring full compliance with UAE regulations, client requirements, and international Oil & Gas safety standards

  • Conducting daily site safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks

  • Identifying workplace hazards and implementing effective risk control measures

  • Preparing and reviewing Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Method Statements

  • Monitoring offshore activities to ensure safe work practices at all times

  • Investigating incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, and preparing detailed reports with corrective actions

  • Supporting emergency response preparedness, drills, and evacuation procedures

  • Ensuring proper use of PPE and adherence to permit-to-work systems

  • Maintaining accurate HSE records, statistics, and compliance documentation

  • Assisting line management in promoting a strong safety culture offshore

  • Coordinating with supervisors, contractors, and client representatives on HSE matters

  • Conducting safety inductions and HSE training sessions for offshore personnel

  • Monitoring environmental protection measures, including waste management and spill prevention

Work Environment – Offshore Operations

This role is strictly offshore, requiring the ability to work in rotational shifts under demanding environmental and operational conditions. The HSE Officer will be expected to demonstrate strong situational awareness, clear communication skills, and the ability to enforce safety standards without disrupting operations.

Offshore work demands high discipline, adaptability, and professionalism. Candidates must be medically fit for offshore deployment and comfortable working long hours during rotation periods.

Qualification Requirements (Minimum)

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical), Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline

  • NEBOSH Certification – Mandatory

  • Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas HSE standards and offshore safety practices

  • Valid offshore medical certification (or ability to obtain one)

Preferred Qualification:

  • UAE Driving Licence (advantage but not mandatory)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant HSE experience

  • At least 5 years working as an HSE Officer in the Oil & Gas industry

  • Proven offshore Oil & Gas experience is essential

  • Previous UAE Oil & Gas experience is highly preferred

Candidates with hands-on offshore exposure, strong incident management skills, and familiarity with client audits will be given priority.

Salary and Compensation Package
