The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) practices, ensuring that all warehouse operations comply with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Position Overview

The SHE & Warehouse Safety Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving safety, health, and environmental systems within the warehouse and related operational areas. This role requires hands-on involvement, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to influence safe behaviors at all levels of the organization.

You will serve as a key advisor on SHE matters, ensuring that risks associated with chemical storage, material handling, equipment operation, and logistics activities are properly identified, assessed, and controlled.

Key Responsibilities

Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies, procedures, and safe systems of work specific to warehouse and chemical trading operations

  • Ensure full compliance with local Malaysian EHS regulations, industry standards, and company requirements

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions

  • Monitor compliance with chemical safety requirements, including labeling, storage compatibility, and handling procedures

Warehouse Safety Oversight

  • Oversee safety practices related to warehouse operations, including material handling, stacking, forklift operations, and storage of chemical products

  • Ensure proper segregation and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous materials

  • Review warehouse layouts and workflows to minimize safety risks and improve operational efficiency

  • Coordinate corrective actions for identified warehouse safety gaps

Risk Assessment and Incident Management

  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments for warehouse activities and chemical handling tasks

  • Lead or support incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and root cause analysis

  • Track incident trends and recommend preventive measures to reduce future risks

  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions

Training and Safety Awareness

  • Organize and deliver SHE training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings for warehouse and operational staff

  • Promote safety awareness and encourage proactive reporting of hazards and near misses

  • Support onboarding safety training for new employees and contractors

  • Assist in developing a positive safety culture across the warehouse environment

Environmental Compliance

  • Monitor environmental aspects related to chemical storage, waste handling, and spill prevention

  • Support proper waste management and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements

  • Assist in spill response planning and emergency preparedness drills

  • Maintain documentation related to environmental compliance and reporting

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain SHE documentation, records, and reports in line with internal and external requirements

  • Prepare safety performance reports for management review

  • Support internal and external audits related to SHE and warehouse operations

  • Ensure continuous improvement through monitoring KPIs and corrective action follow-ups

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE/HSE) roles

  • Prior experience in the chemical industry, chemical trading, manufacturing, or warehouse operations is highly preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations, warehouse safety requirements, and chemical handling practices

  • Familiarity with recognized health and safety standards and best practices

  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with operational teams

  • Malaysian local candidates are preferred
