Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Industrial Hygienist for our San Diego Office.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales and marketing of Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health (IH) services to both industrial and government clients as part of a collaborative team to pursue national/global IH opportunities
  • This opportunity has Seller/Doer focus; Business development experience and focus can be government and/or private sector. Experience with multiple sectors preferred
  • Candidate must have experience and knowledge regarding the local Southern California client market sectors and have an established client base
  • Candidate will report to AMEC’s Northwest Operations Manager
  • Expectation is for candidate to work collaboratively with other AMEC CIHs and IH’s, particularly in the Southern California offices
  • Will also be required to conduct technical IH related surveys and assessments, and provide consultation in OHS, IH and EHS based on technical strengths
  • Responsible for managing task order contracts and completing projects of moderate size and complexity
  • Serve as client manager for IH contracts with a large firms or government agencies. Respond to daily work requests and proposal requests in a timely fashion
  • Directs and supervises technical assignments (both field & office) for all staff in the IH group assigned project responsibilities
  • Prepare, direct and review technical reports, proposals and cost estimates
  • Candidate must have a collaborative approach, willing to work with other AMEC offices to cross-market service lines and work towards larger project opportunities

Skills / Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Industrial Hygiene or related science field
  • A minimum of 8 yrs experience in the IH field required with a minimum of 4 yrs of management or business development experience
  • Operational knowledge of Industrial Hygiene monitoring equipment
  • Operational knowledge of computer databases and office programs (MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and proposals
  • Staff management and leadership ability.
