Manager of Health, Safety, and Environment – HSE in Seattle, WA
Duration: 12 months
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Onsite
- 3-5 years of experience.
- Educational requirement: University or equivalent degree in Occupational Health, Safety or Environmental. Professional certification in an HSE-related field preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs routine functions related to a site’s HSE requirements, objectives and targets, and the overall Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS) to achieve a working environment free of injuries.
- Routine functions may include managing visual site inspections, investigating incidents and accidents, HSE data gathering, training and coaching employees for HSE matters, championing HSE policies, procedures,
- practices, & injury prevention programs, such as ergonomic, industrial hygiene, LOTO, environmental, and others required by OSHA, EPA/DNR & Cummins.
- Contributes to daily health, safety, and environmental operations within the site(s,) providing support to solve complex technical issues.
- Lead hazard identification, environmental aspect identification, and risk assessment programs to identify risk improvement opportunities and gaps in health, safety, and environmental compliance obligations.
- Drives targets and objectives for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex hazard prevention and control systems to reduce or eliminate potential risk.
- Develops and leads training, skills development, and internal communications related to hazard prevention and control for employees within the site(s).
- Leads development of technical content, ensuring it is up to date, controlled, and available while adhering to data privacy regulations.
- Evaluates and interprets site health, safety, and environmental data, legal compliance findings, and internal and external audit results to develop improvement plans using a risk-based, data-driven approach.
- Contributes to site(s) Health, Safety, Environmental Management Systems review annually in conformance with Cummins internal requirements. Participates in site audit preparation and formal audit processes.
- Coaches and develops cross-functional teams and/or direct reports based on stakeholder feedback and observations. Actively seeks opportunities for self-development through professional health, safety, and environmental organizations as a champion of emerging trends.
