Description

Manages the pipeline, rail, marine, and road transportation audit system within the framework of the corporate HSE audit program. Uses audits, key metrics, and reporting tools to communicate performance throughout the organization and drive continuous improvement.

  • Maintains audit procedures, protocols and reference materials.
  • Establishes transportation audit schedules.
  • Coordinates, directs, and participates in transportation audits.
  • Supervises ad-hoc audit teams comprising Valero subject matter experts and/or 3rd-party auditors.
  • Selects and manages consultants engaged as audit team members.
  • Leads opening and closing conferences with refinery leadership teams.
  • Evaluates draft findings against relevant expectations, and revise as needed for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Evaluates corrective action plans for suitability and negotiate changes with site transportation compliance professionals.
  • Reports audit results and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
  • Tracks audit corrective actions status and verifies completion.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Engineering or a technical/scientific field required.
  • 10 years of experience in the following area(s): Logistics and/or
    manufacturing facilities required.
  • Working knowledge of terminal, pipeline, refinery, DOT and/or state
    regulations, and applicable transportation regulations required.
  • Travel up-to 40% of the time required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within specified timeframe, required.
  • Auditor certification preferred.
  • Corporate logistics experience combined with plant experience preferred.

 

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
