About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a highly experienced, proactive, and safety-driven Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Supervisor to join our operations team. This role is crucial in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient logistics and offshore-related activities, particularly in high-risk environments involving transportation, storage, handling of materials, and offshore drilling support operations.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical HSE expertise, hands-on experience in offshore logistics, and proven leadership capabilities to oversee safety performance, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across complex operational settings.

Role Overview: HSE Supervisor

As an HSE Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving health, safety, and environmental management practices across logistics, marine, and offshore operations. You will work closely with operations teams, contractors, marine crews, and management to ensure that all activities comply with company HSE policies, international standards, and regulatory requirements.

You will serve as a key safety leader on-site, actively identifying hazards, controlling risks, investigating incidents, conducting audits, and delivering targeted HSE training programs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Health, Safety & Environmental Management

  • Implement and enforce company HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices across logistics and offshore operations

  • Ensure full compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and industry standards

  • Actively promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and engagement

  • Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to approved risk assessments, method statements, and permits to work

  • Lead by example in demonstrating safe behaviors and operational discipline

2. Risk Assessment & Compliance Oversight

  • Conduct and review Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification (HAZID), and Risk Assessments

  • Identify potential hazards associated with transportation, material handling, offshore drilling support, and marine operations

  • Implement effective risk control measures using the hierarchy of controls

  • Ensure all lifting, rigging, cargo handling, and backload operations comply with safety standards

  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation and compliance records

3. Incident Investigation & Prevention

  • Lead and participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations

  • Conduct root cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively

  • Prepare detailed investigation reports with actionable recommendations

  • Track trends in incidents and proactively implement preventive measures

  • Promote near-miss reporting and continuous improvement initiatives

4. Offshore & Marine Logistics Safety

  • Provide HSE oversight for offshore logistics activities, including vessel operations, drilling support, and cargo movements

  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and transportation of drilling equipment, tools, chemicals, and consumables

  • Verify compliance with marine safety requirements, lifting plans, and cargo securing standards

  • Supervise backload handling processes and ensure correct segregation and documentation

  • Ensure offshore manifests and marine documentation are accurate and compliant

5. Cargo Manifest & Documentation Control

  • Review and verify cargo manifests for offshore and onshore movements

  • Ensure proper classification, labeling, and documentation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials

  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure compliance with IMDG, IATA, and marine transport regulations

  • Monitor backload documentation, waste handling records, and materials tracking systems

  • Ensure accurate reporting and traceability of all transported materials

6. Emergency Response & Preparedness

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and testing of emergency response plans

  • Coordinate emergency drills, simulations, and tabletop exercises

  • Act as a key responder during emergencies, incidents, or unsafe situations

  • Ensure emergency equipment is available, functional, and properly maintained

  • Liaise with emergency services, marine crews, and management during critical situations

7. HSE Training & Workforce Competence

  • Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and job-specific safety training

  • Conduct awareness sessions on offshore safety, marine operations, and logistics risks

  • Assess workforce competence and identify training needs

  • Support supervisors and contractors in understanding and implementing HSE requirements

  • Promote behavioral safety and workforce engagement programs

8. Auditing, Inspections & Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and site safety walks

  • Identify gaps in compliance and recommend corrective actions

  • Support internal and external audits, including client and regulatory inspections

  • Track HSE KPIs and performance indicators

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations

9. Leadership & Coordination

  • Provide professional HSE guidance to operations teams, contractors, and marine personnel

  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, drilling, and marine departments

  • Mentor junior HSE staff and promote professional development

  • Support management in achieving HSE objectives and performance targets

  • Ensure clear communication and collaboration across all operational levels

Required Qualifications & Certifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or related discipline)

Mandatory Certification

  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years’ proven experience supervising HSE activities in:

    • Transportation and logistics operations

    • Storage and handling of materials

    • Offshore or marine-related environments

  • Demonstrated experience in minimizing operational risks and maintaining full regulatory compliance

  • Proven background in offshore drilling support, marine logistics, or oil & gas operations
