Role Summary:
The HSE Specialist will provide help and support in relation to all HSE matters within the UK CWI Manufacturing facilities, ensuring best practice and adherence to all HSE/Legal requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates implementation of basic HSE program requirements within the HSE Management System to ensure practical, cost-effective measures are in place within the workplace.
  • Ensures a Safety Culture exists to ensure employees are accountable and responsible for health, safety and environmental conditions and practices.
  • Facilitates implementation of the HSE Management System including incident investigations and hazard assessments.
  • Conducts safety and/or environmental audits and inspects facilities within area of responsibility to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory laws.
  • Monitors and actions all HSE compliance training requirements for employees under area of responsibility
  • Conducts orientations, visits work sites, and distributes literature to implement and promote safety and/or environmental policies and procedures.
  • Presents information and responds to questions or concerns from employees, managers, clients and the general public.
  • Responsible for the collection and reporting of data for Valpak, chemical usage, waste usage
  • Supports the manufacturing groups with promotion of HSE performance/awareness and general projects to improve HSE support accident/incident investigations and responsible for compliance of reporting both internally and to external bodies
  • Support the continual maintenance of risk assessments/health hazards
  • Responsibility in conjunction with Plant Managers for compliance with HSE policies for example – emergency evacuation processes, legal requirements relating to fire wardens, first aiders
  • Deliver HSE training/awareness sessions as appropriate
  • Handles special projects, as assigned.
  • Any Other Duties as Required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Nebosh HSE Certificate would be preferred but not essential
  • Experience of COSHH/Chemical Hazard/HSE Hazard Monitoring/Identification Risk Assessments would be beneficial
  • Auditor certification would be beneficial
