This position, under general supervision, is responsible for administering the Companys safety programs, along with implementing training initiatives in order to provide a healthy, safe, and environmentally responsible (HSE) workplace. This position will oversee programs to assure compliance with corporate HSE programs, as well as applicable OSHA, EPA, federal and state HSE regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: may include any or all of the following.
1.Analyze and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and practices to ensure they meet all local, state, and national regulatory requirements.Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes or materials.
2.Implement and maintain all HSE programs and policies to minimize/eliminate safety risks and occupational hazards associated with work practices.
3.Establish and maintain records for occupational and environmental health and safety, including documentation on training and certifications.
4.Perform periodic safety inspections and compliance audits.
Assess HSE training needs and ensure all employees receive necessary and required training; coordinate and/or administer training.
5.Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine the cause and recommend changes to work practices, equipment, and work areas to eliminate future safety risks.
6.Work with outside organizations and agencies to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
7.Prepare safety and compliance reports as required by management and outside organizations.
8.Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Demonstrated knowledge of regulations affecting environmental, health and safety.
Proven ability to convert environmental, health and safety program goals into site-specific action plans.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret written information, write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar
Proven ability to deliver, and communicate training, rules and procedures; to solve problems and resolve conflict; to investigate incidents; and prepare compliance reports.
Demonstrated ability to implement programs utilizing strong presentation and training skills.
Proven ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions.
Proven analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve complex and sensitive issues/problems.
Skills & Abilities
Education & Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline and 3+ years of industry related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Experience or education in industrial safety and/or environmental compliance is preferred.
Professional specialization in industrial health, safety, and/or environmental technical skills is preferred.
Bilingual is a plus.
Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications used frequently.
Skilled in the use of various types of HSE training software and database systems.
Certifications & Licenses
Valid Drivers License.
OSHA and/or ISHM Certification, preferred.
