Job Summary

The HSE Specialist implements and manages health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves conducting risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.

2. Risk Assessment and Mitigation
• Perform workplace hazard analyses and risk assessments.
• Recommend and implement corrective actions to mitigate identified risks.
• Monitor and review safety performance metrics.

3. Incident Management
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Ensure proper documentation and communication of incidents.

4. Training and Awareness
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
• Promote a culture of safety through regular communication and initiatives.
• Ensure new hires receive comprehensive HSE orientation.

5. Emergency Preparedness
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
• Conduct emergency drills and ensure readiness for crises.
• Coordinate with local authorities and first responders as needed.

6. Continuous Improvement
• Stay updated on new regulations, technologies, and best practices in HSE.
• Propose and implement initiatives to improve workplace safety and environmental sustainability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into business operations.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:
• 1-3 years of experience in HSE roles.
• Proven track record of implementing HSE programs.

Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in HSE management systems and reporting tools.
