Job Summary: HSE Officer Job in Lagos
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated HSE Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in health, safety, and environmental management and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, minimizing risks, and promoting a safe workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and areas of improvement.
- Prepare and deliver HSE training programs to promote awareness and compliance among staff.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all documentation is maintained and submitted on time.
- Support the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in power plant safety.
- Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform risk assessments and hazard analysis.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
