Position 1: HSE Engineer β United Arab Emirates
Role Overview
The HSE Engineer will take a lead safety role on power and transmission projects, ensuring the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety & Environment systems across all project phases.
This role requires strategic thinking, strong technical competence, and leadership in managing high-risk construction activities such as cable trenching, substation erection, and overhead transmission line works.
Minimum Experience Requirement

At least 10 years of hands-on HSE experience

Proven experience in one or more of the following:

Cable laying projects (HV/LV)
-
Substation construction projects
-
OHL (Overhead Line) transmission works
-
Experience within UAE or GCC projects is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities β HSE Engineer
HSE Planning & Management

Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific HSE plans
-
Ensure alignment with UAE laws, client HSE requirements, and international standards

Establish safety objectives and performance indicators
Risk Assessment & Control
-
Conduct and approve risk assessments, JSA, and method statements
-
Identify high-risk activities and implement engineering and administrative controls
-
Ensure safe systems of work for electrical and civil activities
Site Supervision & Compliance
-
Monitor site operations to ensure full HSE compliance
-
Lead HSE inspections, audits, and safety walks
-
Enforce corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances
Incident Management
-
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting
-
Ensure lessons learned are communicated and implemented
-
Liaise with client representatives and authorities when required
Training & Safety Leadership

Develop and deliver HSE training and toolbox talks
-
Promote a strong safety culture across all workforce levels

Mentor HSE Officers and site supervisors
Reporting & Documentation

Prepare detailed HSE reports, statistics, and compliance records
-
Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory inspections

Track KPIs such as LTIFR, TRIR, and near-miss reports

This role is suitable for professionals who have built solid experience in electrical and infrastructure projects and are ready to operate in demanding site environments.
Minimum Experience Requirement

Experience in live electrical environments is a strong advantage.

Site Safety Monitoring

Monitor daily site activities for HSE compliance

HSE Inspections & Observations

Conduct routine site inspections and safety observations

Toolbox Talks & Inductions

Incident Reporting
