We are currently sourcing for a HSE Advisor to join our team on a permanent basis at Melbourne Water located in Brooklyn. You will be responsible to coordinate the implementation of programs to raise employee awareness of risks and to reduce, avoid, and protect employees from hazards in the workplace, including occupational illness or disease.

Detailed Description

  • Provide professional HSE advice,guidance, assistance and support;
  • Facilitate consultative processes to improve communication and participation in HSE;
  • Promote the Health and Well-being of personnel and take the actions required to reduce our environmental footprint;
  • Coach or otherwise develop the competencies of personnel to contribute to workplace and community HSEQ with a particular focus on:

Risk assessment

Sub-contractor activities

Building structures and grounds

Rehabilitation & workers compensation

HSE Certification

Working on near under or over water

Minor capital and engineering.

Maintenance activities(mechanical and electrical)

  • Facilitate the timely response to HSE issues and incidents, including the recording, reporting and analysis of HSE leading and lagging performance metrics;
  • Inspect and audit our internal processes so as to provide assurance of HSE compliance and performance improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Professional qualification or equivalent with relevant considerable experience;
  • Demonstrate balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position;
  • Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a particular context;
  • Professional demeanour, interpersonal skills;
  • Able to demonstrate team working skills;
  • Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn;
  • Flexible with a can-do attitude;
  • Mobile and willing to spend time away from office location as and when operation requires.
