Schlumberger has an opening in Sugar Land, Texas for a Health Specialist. The Health Specialist is responsible for developing a high level of awareness among all personnel thought communication, training, and promoting active involvement of employees in the HSE realm for their respective business segments in all geography areas.

Responsibilities (Health Specialist Schlumberger) :

The candidate may work on any of the following:

Sky Scrapper
  • To provide GeoMarket Manager with continuous advice and support to ensure OSHA Compliance remains an integral part of the business by playing a role in HSE Policies and Standards
  • To develop high level awareness programs regarding OSHA/Health
  • Oversight of the medical surveillance program consisting of Audiograms, Respiratory and Physical Agility Testing working with the selected vendors
  • Liaising with clients, third party subcontractors and agencies regarding compliance
  • Generating local HSE Procedures, work instructions and checklist as required
  • Preparing and monitoring HSE plans that define how the HSE management System is implemented
  • To advise Mgt on corrective action(s) required
  • To intervene and respond as required in an emergency situations
  • To be able to communication with the clients regarding Industrial Hygiene Testing accordingly and advise Line Management of recommendations
  • Often handles confidential material requiring significant discretion an must demonstrate ability to maintain security and confidentiality with utmost discretion

Qualifications & Experience  (Health Specialist Schlumberger)

  • BA/BS degree in a technical discipline, such as science, engineering, environmental, safety, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Health Safety Related field within the Oil and Gas Industry
  • OSHA 511 or NEBOSH Certification
  • Expert level English written and verbal communication skills, Interpersonal skills and Team player
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and eager to acquire knowledge
  • Knowledge of Oilfield terminology and business practices Oil & Gas Industry exposure
  • Self-driven, Proactive, Process Driven
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of Safety, including a mix of OSHA, DOT and NFPA guidelines desired
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
  • Industrial Hygiene or Medical Background (Preferred)
