Location:               Naas, Co Kildare & Nationwide

Division:                Power Utilities

Salary:                   35-40k €


Job Type: Full Time


Support the H&S Manager in the implementation of the Company SHEQ systems to ensure best practice and champion a ‘safety’ culture within the business.


Need to Do

  • Ensure compliance to KTL Safety system, clients and relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation
  • Carry out regular site audits and inspection, document results and follow up on any corrective actions on telecom sites and/or power construction sites
  • Maintenance and monitoring of all site Health & Safety records
  • Plan and deliver training including company induction and as required toolbox talks
  • Identify training needs and complete training schedule as required
  • Preparation and updating of site specific risk assessments and other site specific safety documentation as required
  • Co-ordinate accident or incident investigations with the site project manager sharing key information with the Customer and management team in a timely manner
  • Ordering PPE and other safety equipment as needed following company procedure, while staying within allocated budget
  • Responsible for driving a safety first culture in the company through coordination with operations
  • Liaise with client counterparts and attend client meetings as required
  • Deliver on H&S KPIs as communicated by the client and the company
  • Coordinate and steer the Safety Rep committee
  • Co-ordination of safety promotion campaigns/Fire procedures and issue of regular safety alerts


Need to Have

Degree in Occupation Health and Safety

Certification as a manual handling instructor a distinct advantage

Full Driving Licence

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role and experience in dealing with HSA and other external regulatory bodies desirable

Experience in a telecoms/power utility environment an advantage

Expert in field of health and safety

Excellent understanding of best practice in industry

Able to engage with and influence the key stakeholders of the business

Strong communicator (verbal and written)

Results driven leader with proven ability in processes improvement

Self-starter who can operate effectively in a dynamic and fast paced organization

Provides direction and guidance to project managers and crew leaders across projects
