Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for an Intermediate Environmental Scientist, Engineer, or Geologist to complete fundamental tasks related to Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and Remedial option analysis and implementation. Other technical responsibilities may include management of remedial system operations and maintenance and peer review of environmental reports.
Location
Work location will be based in the Mississauga, Ontario office. Some travel to project sites may be required on as needed basis typically within the Southern Ontario area, however travel to projects outside this are may ALSO be required.
Key Responsibilities

Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability

Contaminated site remedy evaluation, including feasibility studies, removal action work plans, remedy design, and remedy implementation

Preparation of design plans and specification for various types of remediation systems including groundwater extraction and treatment, soil vapor extraction, bioremediation, chemical oxidation, filtration, and chemical reduction

Management and mentoring of staff and managing subcontractors

Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing

Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals

Review and management of written document production

Preparation for and participation in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties
Skills / Qualifications
-
Graduate of a recognized post-secondary environmental program with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field

Acquired designation as either a P.Eng or P.Geo

8 to 10 years of experience in an environmental capacity with related site assessment experience (experience in the assessment of petroleum contaminated sites is an asset)

Effective written and oral communication skills with the drive to advance these skills through coaching and demonstrate a strong commitment to technical excellence

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time, while ensuring delivery within specific deadlines and budgets
