Nominations for the Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are being accepted by the U.S. Department of Labor.
The safety and well-being of employees in the shipbuilding, long shoring, and commercial fishing sectors should be a top priority for committee nominees. To form a broad-based, balanced, and diverse committee that represents the interests of employers, workers, safety and health professional organizations, government agencies with interests or activities related to the maritime industry, academia, and the general public, the Secretary of Labor will choose 15 members.
Members are appointed to the committee by the Secretary, and their terms begin on that date and last for two years. About twice a year, the advisory committee convenes.
Submit nominations and supporting materials electronically to the Federal eRulemaking Portal. The deadline for submitting nominations is Jan. 6, 2025. Read the Federal Register notice for additional information.
