Azerbaijan Adopts New State Standards in the Field of Occupational Safety

The state standards AZS ISO 45003:2024 “Occupational health and safety management – Psychological health and safety at work – Guidelines for managing psychosocial risks” and AZS ISO 45004:2024 “Occupational health and safety management – Guidelines for performance evaluation” have been adopted by the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), which reports to the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, AZSTAND informed APA-Economics.

When evaluating occupational safety and hygiene (OSH) performance, the aforementioned state standards include guidelines and protocols for monitoring, measuring, and analyzing processes, including creating pertinent indicators. Additionally, it will help firms reduce or avoid workplace illnesses and accidents.

It should be mentioned that the Institute adopted the state standards in question and added them to the State Standardization Fund of Normative Documents after they were considered in the Technical Committee on Standardization in the “Labor Field” (AZSTAND/TK 21).
