It’s time to grab the opportunity to help shape the way your professional body is run – and enhance your own personal development.
By joining the Institution’s Nominations Committee, you will play a role in recommending appointees to the Board of Trustees and other standing committees in the central governance structure.
If you are concerned about it eating up huge amounts of your time, don’t be. You can review application forms from home and join conference calls to shortlist candidates from any location, committing just several days a year to form an interview panel and meet as a committee to annually review processes and procedures.
The committee currently has a number of vacancies and IOSH members of all levels are invited to apply. You just need to match the essential competencies and qualities, with experience in recruitment and an understanding of the environment IOSH operates in. If you do, this could be the role for you.
IOSH President – and former Nominations Committee member – Graham Parker said: “Being on the Nominations Committee really is the chance to shape the leadership of IOSH and how it is run. It ensures that the most suitable candidates fill the key roles in the governance structure.”
Graham Frobisher, Vice-Chair of the Committee, said: “It would be an excellent career step for members. If they are looking to do something requiring a different skillset then I would encourage them to apply.”
Applications must be received by Thursday 16 February. Click here for more information.
