University of Cambridge Launches Digital Platform for Health and Safety Management

The University of Cambridge has launched a new digital platform designed to support health and safety management across its departments.

It was created in collaboration with design firm Nexer Digital and debuted in the fall under the name Safety Hub.

According to the corporation, it offers a centralized resource to enhance risk recording, standardize safety procedures, and define roles, so making the university a safer place to visit, work, and study.

Built on top of the University’s current Microsoft technology, it offers features such as dashboards and reporting tools, risk plan and register templates, and compliance workflows.

Its safety library contains procedures, roles, action plans, risk registers for every department, and best practices and guidelines for risk management.

Department heads, safety officials, and other employees in charge of organizing events, programs, and risk management inside the company are all welcome to access.

Tackling challenges

Lee Emery, product and operational team lead at Nexer Digital, said: “The Safety Hub demonstrates how technology and thoughtful design can come together to tackle complex challenges, making a meaningful difference for organizations and their people.

“By providing a single, user-friendly, and accessible platform for safety resources, tools, and insights, we’re empowering staff and departments to work more effectively and build a stronger safety culture.”
