Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based in the HSE Department at Green Park, Epping 2, Cape Town. The successful candidate will report to the HSE Manager.
Key performance areas include, but are not limited to:
Manage security operations and ensure effective control measures are in place.
Perform and assist with incident investigation and identification of root cause and corrective and preventative measures.
Implement, maintain and update of effective Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Program.
Liaise with Emergency Services
Maintain housekeeping standards
Evaluate effectiveness off Emergency Plan
Ensure compliance to Integrated Risk, Quality and HSE system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BRC, IFS, BSCI, HACCP, ISO 17025, SANS 1841) where applicable.
Contribute towards HSE departmental goals and improvements to achieve best practices and standards.
Overseing of the site‘s safety and environmental systems or the day to day management of safety and environmental systems and standards.
Responsible for contractor management and ensuring compliance.
Conducts training, awareness and orientation overviews and induction for staff and contractors.
Lends support into HACCP and Food Defense team activities.
Accept the role of HACCP/Environmental/Food Defense team member if required.
Detecting, measuring, monitoring and reducing of non conformances.
Drive optimisation and improvement of HSE systems and proccesses which enhance safety, compliance and reduce risks.
Develop plans and review safety and risk performance against targets regularly to ensure continuous improvement.
Provide support and guidance to all staff, visitors and contractors so as to minimse injuries and incidents and non conformant behaviours.
Drives effective emergency response plans and access controll / loss prevention systems
Champions adherence to relevant HSE Policies, Procedures, Work instructions and SOP’s.
The successful candidate should have the following qualification, skills and experience:
Minimum of Grade 12.
SAMTRAC or equivalent qualification.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and risk control standards i.e. OSH Act; Fire Prevention Standards; COID Act; Municipal & Building regulations; SABS codes; etc.
Sound knowledge of Food Safety; Quality & Environmental Management Systems i.e. BRC, HACCP ISO 14001, ISO 9001.
Ability to plan, organize, co-ordinate and facilitate.
Strong investigative and initiating skills
Ability to perform risk assessments
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Ability to influence management to follow risk management strategies.
