Job Description 

Great opportunity to join our client in a staff role for a SHE Advisor. Candidates with a focus in Occupational Health and Hygenie as well as being a Registered Nurse are requested to apply.

Purpose of Role

active support, advice and guidance to all onshore Departments, offshore SHE Advisers, offshore Medics and onshore Occupational Health Nurse on all aspects of the Occupational Health Strategy to enable Client both in UK and Internationally, to discharge its legal obligations and to ensure the required health and safety performance objectives are met. The incumbent will also be responsible for development and implementation of the annual occupational health plan to ensure Client can clearly demonstrate that these objectives are being met.

Area specific responsibilities (e.g. Travel, Offshore/Africa)

§Scope of position includes North Sea offshore installations, onshore office and Client operations in Africa. Travel offshore and to International locations will be required.

Functional Job Skills (e.g. IT, analytical thinking, innovation, decision making)
Essential :

§Knowledge and thorough understanding of all H&S relevant legislation

Preferred :

§Knowledge of technical authoring desirable

§Training and experience with incident/accident reporting and investigation would be advantageous.

Education/Qualifications (eg. Professional qualification, Chartered engineer, MCIPD etc)
Essential :

§Formal H&S qualification

Preferred :

§Membership of professional body e.g. IOSH
§Registered Nurse
§BOHS Module attendances

Other Skills as appropriate(e.g. Specific business skills)

The successful candidate should understand how ergonomic, chemical, physical, psychosocial and biological agents can affect the health of the workforce, and in turn the health of the business, and be able to anticipate, recognise, evaluate, communicate and control risks and/or stressors in, or arising from the work undertaken in support of Client operations that might result in injury or occupational illness.

Experience in an oil & gas or industrial/manufacturing or health environment is desirable or experience in a similar position preferred.
