We are seeking a Senior Safety specialist to join the Pipeline, Distributions and Terminals Admin Area. This is a key organization within the Saudi Aramco production chain, as it handles all product movement, distribution and shipment of crude oil from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to destinations around the globe.

The successful candidate will perform safety-related technical tasks to ensure the safe operation of facilities; complete assigned tasks in a timely manner; interface with other departments, vendors, subcontractors, and third parties.

You will participate in safety technical meetings; and technically support the safety functions within the organization. This includes developing safety processes related to risk assessment and management, safety training, asset integrity, safe operations, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, root cause analysis and incident investigations, and managing critical activities at site.


Minimum Requirements (Safety Specialist Saudi Arabia):
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. An advanced degree is preferred.

You should have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in Health & Safety within Oil & Gas (hydrocarbon, petrochemicals, or related industries). This experience will include areas such as: operations and maintenance, plant engineering, safety program development, and process safety.

This experience will encompass knowledge of global safety management systems, elements, processes, and techniques applicable to the oil and gas industry; as well as International industry fire and safety codes, recommended practices, standards and specifications.

Familiarity with international codes, and standards such as NFPA, OSHA codes are essential.


Duties & Responsibilities (Safety Specialist Saudi Arabia):
You will be required to perform the following:

Provide ongoing support to departments, assisting them in implementing the Saudi Aramco Safety Management System (SMS), and its elements in meeting safety objectives and expectations.

Have frequent contact with general management, managers, division heads, senior engineers, consultants and safety leads in operations and maintenance, to identify hazards, resolve safety problems, or address safety management issues.

Provide safety solutions based upon industrial best practices and acceptable solutions.

Conduct field inspections of onshore and offshore oil/gas facilities, project construction sites, drilling rigs, and support facilities.

Participate in various safety studies/activities, such as: PHAs, HAZID, HAZOPs, MOC, JSAs, LOPA, incident investigations, compliance reviews, or insurance surveys.

Lead risk studies or conduct consequence analyses, e.g., toxic gas dispersion modeling. Conduct site safety inspections and audits at various sites of Pipelines, Distribution, and Terminals (PD&T).

Respond to emergency situations and incidents, either during or after regular working hours, to provide technical assistance and advice.

Participate in developing and promoting on- and off-job safety educational programs, to address safety issues or concerns.

Mentor other safety engineers and provide support to other admin areas, such as upstream and downstream, as well as oil producing facilities in the areas of flares, pressure relief systems, and safety processes.

Provide innovative solutions to problems for field safety and perform hazard identification and risk assessments, including risk control.

Formulate and implement long-term strategies to improve operations and reduce costs. Provide long-term technical direction to admin areas and its associated departments.
