
Safety Officer – South Africa
Job Details
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures in line with NOSA and specific client requirements.
- Implement HSE policies, standards, and programs while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Provide local field safety support to meet safety and health objectives, focusing on personnel safety at customer sites and work locations for projects in Africa.
- Train staff or ensure they receive necessary health and safety training. Facilitate customer relations and communication regarding HSE matters.
- Understand how product and service offerings address customer equipment and process issues.
- Provide administrative and training support for HSE functions, including compliance with contractor management systems, customer HSE prequalification, delivery of training, site orientations, and data compilation through HSE software.
- Extensive travel (4-6 months) required to customer sites, job locations, and international offices.
- Job sites may present hazardous conditions, including extreme temperatures and working at heights.
- Physical activity in the field includes walking, climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
Reports to: Senior Global HSE Director
Education and Experience Required:
- Technical or Safety/Health management degree or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in the energy or construction industry with field safety responsibilities.
- Safety Officer-level certification required.
