Safety Leader Job in Canada – Red Lake Gold Mines, Red Lake

Reporting to the Safety and Training Coordinator the Safety Leader will be directly responsible for ensuring that best practices are followed to help mitigate accidents, and for ensuring that all works follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations at Goldcorp Red Lake Gold Mines. The schedule for this role will be 4×3, 10.5 hours, offering a great work/life balance.
What you’ll do
Participate in accident investigations, and produce and distribute appropriate documentation, as required.
Conduct planned workplace inspections with supervisors on a weekly basis.
Document results of safety tours; follow up to ensure issues have been addressed and resolved.
Ensure diligent record-keeping of all training records and signing of documentation.
Produce and revise job task procedures.
Assist with the development of training modules and underground procedures.
Support the occupational health and safety committee.
Attend morning line ups
Conduct safety inductions as required.
Develop safety policies and procedures.
Conduct and participate in safety meetings.
Identify and correct safety hazards.
Familiarity with underground
Ensure all workers comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario and mining regulations.
Provide guidance and be a safety resource for supervisors.

Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Who you are
Possess a Secondary School Graduation Diploma, or a minimum of 5-10 years of underground mining experience working in various types of positions in the mining industry.
Supervisory experience would be an asset.
Certification in Ontario Common Core, Underground Supervisor Common Core and “Train the Trainer” would be an asset.
Five to Seven years underground mining experience.
Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety.
Committed to continuous improvement with a vested interest in developing oneself as well as others around them.

Agile, with the ability to focus on priorities and re-align when needed.
Clear communicator with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
