Overview / Responsibilities

We are seeking a suitably qualified Quality Assurance Manager to join our Perth Mining and Minerals team.

The Project Quality Assurance Manager will support the project management team in developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and reviewing the Project Management System.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Preparation of QA/QC documentation plus control and supervision of all amendments and revisions
  • Control and the distribution of all the QA/QC documentation including to site subcontractors, as relevant to their scope
  • Support the implementation of the QA/QC management system at project site
  • Monitor all quality related activities on the project
  • Monitor and coordinate project audits and maintain Project Assurance schedule
  • Perform internal and external audits on behalf of the project as per Project Assurance Schedule
  • Verify that quality-related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
  • Verify that subcontractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and monitor subcontractor documentation submittals
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate all project QA/QC requirements with the project bidders
  • Monitor the implementation of the approved QA/QC Plan/s
  • Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements
  • Monitor the disposition of all issued non-conformance reports
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system
  • Recommend and/or implement improvements when required
  • Provide support regarding site QA/QC activities to the project site management team
  • Attend any specific or ad-hoc client quality management meetings
  • Coordinate all quality matters and related correspondence with the client’s QA/QC representatives
  • Coordinate the approval of the site’s QC technical submittals to the client
  • Manage actions and closure of all complaints
  • Coordinate with the site Construction Manager on all quality issues
  • Monitor and report on the Project Quality KPIs and other as required
  • Work with and support the HSSE Manager on site
  • Facilitate management review of the Project Management System

Skills / Qualifications

  • Diploma of Business (Quality Auditing), or Business/Commercial Degree
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Qualification and/or Registered Exemplar Global Principal Auditor of Quality Management System
  • 10 years’ experience in quality management (preferably resource/construction industry)
  • Trained Internal Auditor
  • The ability to solve problems with many variables and unique situations
  • Proven conceptual, research, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experienced in report writing for internal cascade and management level
