An Oil and Gas company in the Petroleum and marketing of Fuels and Lubricants is seeking a highly motivated and experienced QHSE Officer to join her team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) management system, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Job Title: QHSE Officer
Location: Port-Harcourt
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement QHSE Management System: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive QHSE management system aligned with relevant ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and legal requirements.
- Ensure Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards. Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practices.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify and assess workplace hazards and risks, and develop appropriate control measures. Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews.
- Conduct Audits and Inspections: Plan and conduct internal QHSE audits and inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of the management system and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering).
- Proven experience as a QHSE Officer
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and experience in implementing and maintaining ISO management systems.
- Understanding of relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation and regulations.
- HSE certification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
