OSHA Appoints Scott Ketcham as Deputy Assistant Secretary

The new deputy assistant secretary at OSHA is Scott Ketcham. With more than 20 years of OSHA expertise, Ketcham joins the national office after holding several enforcement and leadership positions.

Ketcham led the Directorate of Construction for almost five years before taking over as director of OSHA’s Directorate of Enforcement Programs. For the same directorate, he also held the position of deputy director for two years. He has served in OSHA as a compliance officer, deputy regional administrator, assistant area director, and area director.

Ketcham was employed by the U.S. Army Medical Activity at Bassett Army Hospital in Alaska as a staff industrial hygienist before joining OSHA. Ketcham is a Certified Safety Professional with a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alaska. In addition, Ketcham has 24 years of military experience in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, and U.S. Army.
