NSC Partners with U.S. Small Business Administration to Promote Safety

To promote safety for small businesses nationwide, the National Safety Council is pleased to announce a new collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Through this new partnership, both groups will be able to provide small businesses with customized safety tools, such as workshops, training courses, and best practice recommendations. Additionally, NSC members will have first dibs on training opportunities and activities sponsored by SBA.

NSC President and CEO Lorraine Martin and SBA Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience Associate Administrator Francisco Sánchez Jr. participated in a signing ceremony yesterday to mark the strategic partnership.

Martin stated, “We are excited to work with the SBA to make sure small businesses have access to the information and tools they need to create safer work environments.” “The foundation of any successful business is safety. With this collaboration, we can help thousands of small businesses nationwide fulfill the objective of the National Safety Council by assisting them in safeguarding their most important resource: their employees.

By utilizing the Council’s vast expertise in safety procedures and the SBA’s strong ties to the small business sector, the relationship supports the Council’s long-standing goal of preventing workplace injuries and fatalities.

According to Sánchez, “small businesses are the heart of the American economy.” In addition to broadening our reach, this priceless collaboration with the National Safety Council strengthens our resolve to support the success of small enterprises. We enable business owners to establish safe and secure work environments for their people by offering vital safety resources and professional advice. Together, we are laying the groundwork for small companies throughout the country to experience resilience, prosperity, and sustainable growth.
