A rapidly growing, sustainable energy company is seeking a Transportation EHS Specialist to support the expanding EHS department, based out of the Waltham, MA area. The Transportation EHS Specialist will be responsible for developing & implementing a company-wide transportation safety program while supporting the EHS Manager and the entire EHS division to ensure overall compliance with regulatory requirements and further advance a positive safety culture.
The Role:
- Develops and implements transportation safety programs by regulations and industry best practices.
- Ensures Corporate Transportation Safety Standards (e.g. Fatigue Risk Management Policy, Seatbelt Policy, Passenger/Visitor Policy, etc.) are fit-for-purpose and aligned with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Ensures safe management and operations for all motorized vehicles, including passenger motor vehicles, heavy equipment, powered industrial trucks (PIT), etc.
- Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provides guidance and support to management and employees on transportation safety policies and procedures.
- Develops and facilitates transportation safety training programs for applicable employees (e.g. Drivers, site personnel, Field HSE personnel, etc.).
- Monitors and tracks transportation safety metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions; conducts regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
The Candidate:
- B.S. Degree in Health & Safety or Transportation & Logistics field
- 3-5 years of Transportation Safety experience in O&G, Energy, or Chemicals industries.
- Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, FMCSA regulations, and industry best practices required
- Professional certification (ASP, CSP, SMS, etc.) is preferred.
- Project management skills and fluency in HSE management systems are a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 30%+ across the New England region required.
