Basic Function
This position provides occupational safety functional support for the Americas region of LyondellBasell Industries. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and processes that achieve industry leading GoalZERO performance.
Provides guidance, direction and support to manufacturing sites including site HSE and Occupational Safety resources on occupational safety strategy and tactics.
Roles & Responsibilities
Identify and ensure effective and sustainable implementation of programs that improve safety performance.
Monitor and assess regional safety performance and identify and pursue improvement opportunities.
Support site based HSE and occupational safety resources to drive effective and consistent program development and execution.
Facilitate networking among regional resources to share ideas, address and resolve common challenges and create positive change.
Interface with other corporate HSE and Operational Excellence functions to ensure occupational safety strategies are supported and achieved.
Through performance monitoring and interaction with site resources, ensure that all sites in the region are operated in compliance with applicable safety and occupational health regulations and they are administered consistent with LYB’s goals and objectives.
Participate in Operational Excellence audits providing occupational safety focus and expertise.
Assists in the development and implementation of the “GoalZERO” process that drives a consistent and modular approach to sustaining performance improvement.
Support site resources and provide expertise to assess readiness for projects and turnarounds.
Provide safety expertise for incident investigations. If necessary, lead or participate directly in investigations, reports and follow-up actions.
Interpret safety standards and policies for the region.
Min. Qualifications
B.S. in Safety Mgmt, Engineering or equivalent in safety management or a related technical discipline.
5 years of professional experience in a chemical manufacturing environment;
Experience should be primarily in the field of occupational safety and/or industrial hygiene.
This position requires excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
