The Department of Natural Sciences, located in the Faculty of Science and Technology, delivers high quality teaching, research and consultancy across several disciplines including environmental health, environmental and public health, occupational health and safety and risk management as well as the biosciences. The focus of the department is on the application of knowledge to practice, with that knowledge underpinned by a sound scientific philosophy and research basis.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic practitioner with relevant qualifications who can make a positive contribution to our academic provision through teaching, and through engagement in research and professional practice.
Applicants should have relevant practice experience working within an environmental health, occupational safety and health or risk management context and a commitment to promoting the development of the next generation of Environmental and Occupational Health professionals through the provision of high quality teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in professional practice and in research activities, aligning with the strategy of the Department. As in any academic position, the role will also involve the administrative duties associated with a busy University environment.
The appointment will be made at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, depending on qualifications and experience.
