Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Melbourne for a permanent contract. This role is responsible for leading the Melbourne Studies and Engineering Technical Safety Team across our suite of clients, industries and project lifecycle phases.
Leading technical safety team ensuring technical quality, project delivery, supporting career progression and providing technical trainings.
Generating project estimates, supporting clients, ensuring alignment with key project stakeholders and supporting business development opportunities.
Providing technical input on industry best practices in relation to ALARP/SFARP requirements, loss prevention codes and standards.
Developing Onshore and Offshore Safety Case, including associated addendums
Conducting FSA including FERA, NFHA, EERA, ESSA, TRIA, DORA.
Performing Consequence Modelling using PHAST software.
Addressing Functional safety requirements to meet IEC 61511.
Facilitating and engaging in various risk Workshops/Reviews eg HAZID, HAZOP, Constructability Reviews and incorporating.
Review findings into design requirements and Safety Case.
Skills / Qualifications
An Engineering degree, previous experience within the oil and gas industry (extensive Technical Safety engineering experience)
A thorough understanding of Onshore and Offshore Australian Safety Case regulations.
Experience in operating DNV PHAST software.
Ability to provide inputs into and facilitate various Risk Reviews.
Excellent communication skills when working with cross functional teams to provide technical safety related input on projects.
