Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an HSSEA Administrator. The position of HSSEA Administrator reports directly to the HSSE Coordinator, and indirectly to the Director of HSSEA and the Senior Construction Quality Manager for the Power & Process Construction Group. The position calls for candidates with passion and drive. This is an entry intermediate level role that requires a high level of commitment and dedication to the health and wellbeing of others in our industry. The ideal candidate will have education, training, and / or experience in the fields of occupational safety and health or construction commensurate with the desired position. The selected candidate will primarily be involved with administrative and clerical duties to aid the Corporate Power & Process safety & health team to ensure success.


Key Aims & Objectives

  • Manage daily office operations for the HSSEA team
  • Develop reports from data and perform trend analysis
  • Support Wood HSSEA initiatives and programs
  • Actively seek improved efficiency for the HSSEA team through systems or processes

Prime Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist in the development of new HSSEA policies and procedures to meet Corporate and overall Wood needs
  • Participate in incident investigation and root cause analysis processes, and prepare required report(s)
  • Learn and become proficient with HSSEA systems in support of the HSSEA team’s initiatives and programs
  • Prepare safety & health data and statistics
  • Maintain safety & environmental system data
  • Provide safety support to HSSEA team
  • Prepare safety meeting material
  • Plan and organize functional meetings
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of applicable legislative, client, and Wood requirements
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with Wood employees in the office and the field
  • Assist with implementation of the Wood Drug & Alcohol Program

Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 + years administrative experience, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • 1 Year of construction experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; includes use of proper grammar, spelling, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge with  Microsoft professional office products required; knowledge of SharePoint preferred
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels
  • High level of integrity for reporting and confidentiality as well as upholding company policy, personal activities, etc.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines

Physical Requirements

  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing no more than 25 pounds
  • Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the responsibilities and duties as identified above.
