Reports to the Quality Manager, in Houston, Texas.
Promotes a proactive Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) culture for a global manufacturer of oil & gas field equipment by assisting with the implementation and monitoring of core HSE programs/issues.
Provides direction, assistance and training with all aspects of the HSE program and processes in a cost-effective manner with specific responsibility for domestic service and manufacturing locations.
Manages Industrial Hygiene plan
Develop and manage the roll out all prevention initiatives.
Use his education, experience and processes knowledge to develop news ideas, actions and training to support the Global HSES Policy.
Actively participate in business unit and HSE global teams.
Ensure EPA, OSHA, DOT and TCEQ compliance – compliance with Federal, State, Local and Corporate requirements relating to training, recordkeeping, permits, reports, policy and procedures and other related compliance issues.
Manage hazardous waste disposal, tracking, and reporting for multiple facilities.
Participates in accident investigations, problem resolution, and appropriate feedback (positive and corrective) within the teams and sites.
Provides support in compiling data and evaluating statistics for management, federal and state agencies, as well as customer quotation requirements / reporting.
Follow-up on corporate compliance cycle audits with semi-annual audits to ensure problem resolution and overall HS&E compliance.
Follow-up on site monthly audits to ensure action items have been completed
Interface with Corporate staff and assist in Environmental and Safety audits off-site.
BA/BS in related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Prefer professional certification in BCSP and/or CIH.
Typically 4+ yrs experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Typically 2+ years management or supervisory experience.
Advanced proficiency in applicable software applications, including advanced program functions in MS Office.
Solid analytical and problem solving skills related to functional area, understanding impact on the overall business.
Federal, state and local governmental health, safety and environmental compliance;
Ability to train individuals on HSE subjects and requirements;
DOT transportation requirements;
Storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP);
Safety Management Systems audits;
Behavior safety processes experience a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication
Strong interpersonal skills.
Computer literate with experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Office.
