Job Title: HSE Officer
Location: Ota (Ogun State)
Salary: 150k

Job Description:

The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and environmental compliance within the organization. The key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the purchase and distribution of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to relevant workers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all disbursements.

Contractor Monitoring:

  • Monitor contractors’ activities within the facility to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure that the number of contractors, their task location, task description, task duration, and estimated completion time are accurately recorded.

Permit-to-Work System:

  • Issue Permit-to-Work for contractors carrying out tasks within the facility.
  • Ensure that permits are renewed or re-validated daily, as necessary.
  • Monitor contractor activities to ensure no work is being carried out without a valid permit.

Audit Support:

  • Support the HSE Manager during audits.
  • In some cases, lead or coordinate audit teams and processes.
  • Submit results and findings to the HSE Manager after the audit.

Awareness Creation:

  • Disseminate HSE information to all workers.
  • Create awareness of new or updated HSE programs, policies, and procedures.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Assist the HSE Manager in developing and implementing emergency preparedness programs.
  • Ensure the effective execution of emergency plans.

Fire Prevention:

  • Carry out fire prevention measures as part of the company’s emergency preparedness plan.

Incident Investigation:

  • Investigate near misses, first aid cases, illnesses, accidents, and dangerous occurrences.
  • Prepare a first-level report on such events for further action.

Other Requirements:

  • HND/BSC in a related field.

Expr: FMCG (1-4 Years) Manufacturing Sector (ISPON, HSE1,2,3, NEBOSH added advantage)
