Role Summary:
Ensure compliance and alignment to the industry / international standards used by Baker Hughes, a GE Company to build the Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems.  The role will be located in Houston, TX.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Deep knowledge of the standards commonly used to build the Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems, particularly ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001.
  • Understanding of ISO Standards structure (High Level Structure – HLS).
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, API Q1, API Q2)
  • Ensure compliance of the BHGE HSE Management Systems with the applicable standards (ISO, API, OHSAS, etc.)
  • Manage our ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates globally, collaborating with local site management, HSE representatives and Registrars
  • Transition single site certifications into the global multisite to realize synergies to the business
  • Develop and implement a strategy for efficient management of our global certifications including proactive plans to adapt to changes in standards so that these are incorporated seamlessly into the business
  • Collaborates across functions to leverage existing effective and robust processes to enhance streamlines operations
  • Proficient at identifying and communicating lessons, ensuring corrective actions are effective across the organization to avoid systemic gaps
  • Ensure that applicable regulatory and statutory requirements are identified and BHGE HSEMS are compliant.
  • Ensure internal audit program is compliant with the requirements established by the applicable standards.
  • Keep the BHGE HSEMS certifications fully aligned with the ISO / IAF requirements.
  • Manage the Standards Library Subscription keeping the organization up-to-date of any changes or new releases of any applicable standards.
  • Leads the HQ Management Review at least annually and collaborates across the organization to make improvements 
  • Maintain the list of External Controlled documents current
  • Participate in Meetings / Task Groups in standardization organizations (API, ISO, etc.)
  • Additional Projects assignment as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
  • 7+ years in HSE / Quality Management in the Oil & Gas Industry
  • Lead Auditor certified for ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001 or extensive experience auditing management systems
  • Experience implementing management systems
  • In depth knowledge of document repository systems
  • Knowledge of audit database and reporting systems
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Individual must be a self-starter with strong interpersonal and analytical skills, and must be able to work in a matrixed organization to operationalize strategic initiatives by influencing others
