Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide support on a range of environmental issues to a variety of internal and external stakeholders. This support will be provided in both onshore and offshore locations and is in line with HSE&A objectives and targets as well as specific HSE team objectives and targets.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Safety – Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy.

Leadership – Undertakes the role in line with corporate policy and demonstrates behaviours in line with the client’s values at all times. Readily accepts accountability.

Financial – Carries out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk.

Technical/Functional:

Responsible for the development and upkeep of the environmental management system, including:

Reviewing the procedures within the HSEMS and ensuring that the procedures within the HSEMS meet the requirements of the standard.

Being the team focal point for the ISO 14001 standard.

Monitoring and/or executing the functions that are required by the ISO 14001 standard
Coordinating the revision or development of HSEMS procedures.

Coordinating the issue of procedures and any roll out requirements.

Formal co-ordinator for planning including:

Ensure all HSE team activities are input to plan.

Supporting the HSE advisors by arranging regular reviews of the plan and ensuring plan is updated where necessary.

Formal co-ordinator for reporting including
Monitoring all regulatory reports required to be submitted and supporting the asset advisors to ensure reports are submitted on time, as well as ensuring PETRA is being updated.

Monitoring all corporate reporting required, working with the planning and reporting team to ensure data is accurate.

Ensuring that the reporting procedure is up to date following any changes (regulatory, corporate or other)
QC validation of data including for example PON1, PON2, Non Compliances etc
Liaise with commercial team to ensure Financial Responsibility documentation is provided in time for OPEP requirements.

Delivering any other ad hoc reports for data.
Supporting elected reps by co-ordinating vc’s etc.

Additional Roles:

Participate in the client’s Performance Management process and ensure that periodic ‘‘catch-up’ meetings are arranged with management to discuss progress.

Assist with the identification of best practice across UK operated assets and where necessary communicate these to appropriate personnel or groups.

Attend and contribute to relevant team, departmental and company meetings
Build positive relationships with OPRED and other regulators.

Focal point for site survey environmental permits to the Seismic Acquisition Lead
OPRED PETS portal focal point / administrator PETRA focal point / administrator and future improvements (as point above)

Collaboration – Collaborates with others in the team and looks for opportunities to leverage their network and work with others to develop safe, practical and effective solutions.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation – Continuously develops ways of working by seeking feedback from colleagues and key stakeholders. Complies with our client’s project management disciplines and effectively utilises knowledge databases and actively participates in project reviews.

Capability Development – Looks for opportunities to develop technical and personal skills both by formal learning interventions and work experience. Coaches team colleagues where appropriate and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning.

People Processes – Engages with people processes in a positive and timely manner. Demonstrates a commitment to the spirit of such processes.

Performs other duties, completes additional tasks and supports ad hoc projects as required.

Verification of the Environmental Management System to the OSPAR standard
Successful verification report.

All previous findings closed out

Accurate data reporting

All reports to be submitted to Regulator are completed on time or ahead of schedule

No non compliances for late reporting or mis reporting of data.

Qualifications/Training:
Degree or equivalent, preferably in an environmental discipline

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Relevant experience working in the within the UK Oil & Gas industry (environmental field preferred).

Working knowledge of UK offshore environmental legislation (preferred).
Working knowledge of EEMS and the OPRED Oil and Gas portal (preferred)

Excellent communication, organisational and facilitation skills.

Environmental Auditing or inspection experience and/or qualifications (preferred)
IT literate – good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint software.
Strong team player who is also capable of producing quality work on an individual basis.

Desire to obtain offshore survival (BOSIET) certificate.
