A day in the life of a Natures Way Foods Health and Safety Advisor:

 

We make delicious salad meals, fruit pots, coleslaw, potato salad, bagged salads and leafy salad bowls across our 4 manufacturing sites. Our products are stocked by leading Retail supermarkets & popular restaurant chains, consumed by millions of customers in the UK. So, you may well have eaten something made by us!

 

Our health and safety motto is “Look out, Speak up and Take Care” and as an important member of our Health and Safety team you will be involved in ensuring this message is embedded throughout the sites you look after.

 

You will be managing 2 Health and Safety Co-ordinators who are at a more junior level of experience, ensuring their on-going development and support as well as overseeing 2 of our manufacturing sites. Our sites are very close together, so its easy to get around. You will report to our Senior Health and Safety Advisor.

 

You will have involvement in championing day to day health and safety including managing near misses, audits, training and coaching, legal standards and being an ambassador for Health and Safety on your sites. There are also opportunities to get involved in Environmental Management.

 

We have a diverse workforce with over 25 different languages spoken so we are always looking for new ways to make sure that our message is well communicated. You will be able to get involved in supporting and creating new projects to make an impact.

 

This is a busy role within a food manufacturing environment. We work with fresh produce with a short shelf life, so the environment is fast paced, and temperature controlled to a chilled level to maintain freshness of our products. This brings its own unique challenges and you will also work closely with our on-site Occupational Health team.

Role type: Permanent

 

Hours: Admin hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm, 1 hour for lunch. Some flexibility may be required in this role at times.

 

About you:

 

A NEBOSH Certificate is essential and ideally you will be working towards your Diploma.

 

You should be an experienced Heath and Safety Advisor, ideally with experience within an FMCG / Manufacturing / Engineering / Production / or waste environment.

 

You will need to have managerial experience as you will be managing 2 junior level direct reports in this role.

 

You will need to have a passion for Health and Safety and sharing good practice and be a team player. Any Environmental management experience would be desirable although not essential.
