Provides Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), Leadership and Management at the Site, by establishing strategic and operational plans with the Site Leadership Team, and managing the EHS operations. Acts as Environmental Coordinator – Compliance with the limits, terms and conditions of the license. Develops and implements a comprehensive EHS Program at the Site that is in compliance with Pfizer and regulatory requirements.
EHS programs would include, but not limited to, these areas: regulatory permitting and compliance; loss prevention and control; employee health services; industrial hygiene; radiation safety; biosafety; emergency preparedness; process safety; ergonomics; EHS management and construction, business continuity planning and EHS management.
Provides expert environmental, health and safety support to Pfizer colleagues, property, and operations.
Pfizer compliance with federal, provincial, and local regulations and Pfizer guidelines, industrial hygiene, safety, environmental issues and loss prevention. Oversees the site’s environmental systems to ensure compliance with the Manitoba Environment License.
Analyze existing and planned products, processes, equipment, facilities, and programs to develop and implement proactive strategies to minimize injury, illness, property loss, and business interruption.
Champions and promotes positive EHS behavior and provides innovative and strategic leadership in EHS culture at the site
Education and Experience:
BS / MS in Industrial Environmental Safety / Management, Industrial Hygiene or other related field. Certifications in CSP, CIH, or other related technical disciplines desirable.
MBA Gold Business Experience is an advantage.
5 – 8 years experience in progressive technical management experience, preferably EHS or related field. Experience in Pharmaceuticals or related field a plus.

Job Description :
The incumbent is responsible for the management and functional management of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department at the plant, developing strategic and operational plans with plant management and managing the operations of the plant.
SES. As environmental coordinator, it ensures compliance with the limits, terms and conditions of the permit. It designs and implements a comprehensive SSE program at the plant that meets Pfizer’s requirements and regulations.
HSE programs must include, but are not limited to: regulatory permits and compliance; loss prevention and control; health service for employees; industrial hygiene; radiation protection; biosecurity; emergency preparedness; process safety; ergonomics; contractor and construction security; business continuity planning, handling of special waste and management by the SSE of introducing new products to the plant.
Provide expert health, safety and environmental support to Pfizer employees, assets and operations.
Administer comprehensive programs to facilitate compliance with federal, provincial and local regulations and Pfizer guidelines, addressing industrial hygiene, safety, environmental and loss prevention issues.
Oversee the mill’s environmental systems to ensure compliance with Manitoba’s environmental permit.
Analyze existing and planned products, processes, equipment, facilities and programs to design and implement proactive strategies to minimize injury, illness, property loss and business interruption.
Promote positive HSE behaviors and provide innovative and strategic leadership by continually improving the plant’s EHS culture.
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Industrial Hygiene or other related field. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation or certification in another technical discipline is an asset. MBA or business experience preferable.
Five to eight years of experience in technical management at increasing levels of responsibility, preferably in HSE or a related sector. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a related field is an asset
