To provide program development support in meeting EHS objectives to the Corporate EHS Group, business teams, functional departments, and/or plants. To support corporate reporting requirements, support the EHS/Safety Management Systems and assist in training and implementing new EHS projects and initiatives.
Manage small projects within a business group, or manage a portion of a large project with specific defined tasks as assigned; may participate on sponsor team projects and initiatives.
Research and write summary reports on existing and emerging EHS rules and regulations; assist managers in revising or developing policies where appropriate.
Monitor, report, and develop tools needed to support current EHS Programs.
Participate or support management-level EHS audits and audit training.
Arrange and conduct EHS training in coordination with business groups, using tools provided.
Participate in the preparation of reports for government agencies and external stakeholders; maintain appropriate EHS records.
Assist in the compilation and preparation of annual budgets.
Review EHS documents and reports for accuracy prior to submittal to governing agencies.
Maintain, monitor and track qualified vendors for the department.
Perform all duties in accordance with safety and EHS rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of current federal, state, provincial and local EHS regulations.
Basic knowledge of effective project management methods.
Strong ethics and professionalism.
Good organizational skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret technical data.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to operate a computer and supporting software.
Bachelor’s degree in EHS related field required.
Entry level EHS professional position with 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in supporting projects and policy implementation preferably within an EHS department.
Or any combination of education, experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
