Description
A chemical manufacturing organization is looking to appoint an EHS Manager for their facility in the Wilmington, DE area. The EHS Manager will be responsible for providing leadership in safety and overseeing the EHS Specialists at the plant. The successful candidate will be expected to take a hands-on role, communicate effectively, and is not afraid to mentor.
The role:
- Influences Plant, Production, Operations, Maintenance and site management to drive the EHS performance and results.
- Prioritize initiatives and resources to maximize effectiveness
- Interact with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with company and government standards
- Oversee the health and safety programs for the site; serve as a resource for safety leads at other sites
- Develop multiple EHS direct reports
The candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, IH, Physical Science/Engineering or a related technical field
- 8-10+ years of progressive EHS experience in a FDA manufacturing setting
- Professional certifications preferred, CSP, CIH, etc
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, able to influence at all levels
