The question “does manual handling training expire“, is a tricky one, as I cannot say yes and cannot say no.
This is why:
There is no set requirement for the manual handling training to expire legally, but some quarters recommended that refresher training should be provided at intervals not more than every three years or where there is a change in work practices resulting in the introduction of a new system of work related to manual handling or use of equipment to handled loads.
Also, some quarters believe that refresher should be done annually.
Training is done based on need. Hence, training need should be assessed and anytime lapses are spotted, refresher training should be done. This lapses may be found in areas like increase manual handling injury, legal sanctions, change of regulation, change of job plan and procedures, etc.
I believe the question has been answered.
