Position Summary: Assist the Campus Safety
Manager in leading a team of up to 30 Officers in providing a safe and secure environment for IMG students, employees and visitors.
Interview all persons on IMG property that are not known.
Screen all vehicles and persons attempting to enter IMG property and allow only authorized vehicles/persons entry onto the campus.
Conduct patrols for up to 8 hours to insure all property is secure, no unsafe conditions exist, no unauthorized persons are on property and all maintenance needs are reported.
Log all unusual incidents in the Daily Logbook
Monitor student departure of the campus to ensure accountability.
Collaborate with Student Services on curfew rules with students.
Detect unauthorized acts by students, employees and visitors.
Keep all Campus Safety posts and campus grounds clean and orderly.
Respond to all types of emergencies and other security related calls.
Be placed on stand-by status or recalled into work during emergency or weather related situations.
Ensure that enough properly trained Campus Safety Officers are on site and in uniform at the beginning of each shift to properly cover all assigned posts.
Ensure all officers receive a daily briefing before their shift, including weekend and holidays.
Ensure contract security guards working during IMG events have received a 10-15 minute orientation on the IMG campus and the event’s post orders before they stand their post.
Ensure that all Campus Safety Officers have completed the training program and have been properly trained by an assigned trainer before they stand any post.
Maintain a “Training Calendar” to indicate all Campus Safety training.
Conduct training (daily during each shift’s Daily Briefing, weekly using drills and course correspondence classes and monthly using classrooms meetings).
Maintain information/training files on all Campus Safety Officers.
Provide all equipment, supplies and support to Campus Safety Officers to ensure friendly, efficient and professional services.
Quickly report any IMG campus concerns or problems to the Campus Safety Manager.
Ensure all Campus Safety Officers take their appropriate breaks and that their breaks are taken at a time of least campus activity.
Report any known child endangerment or abuse.
Receive and complete incident reports about Theft, Criminal Acts, Misconduct, Trespassing, Security/Safety Violations.
Keep a close liaison with local law enforcement officials.
Conducting 30 day, 60 day, 6 month and annual reviews with all Campus Safety Officers.
Develop positive relationships with all IMG employees.
Delegate tasks to Officers and making sure those tasks are understood, supervised and accomplished.
Have advance knowledge of campus events and provide additional security if needed.
Provide first aid and CPR/AED when needed
Know, own and support all Campus Safety and IMG policies and procedures.
Develop new procedures to streamline processes.
Identify defects in current procedures and provide applicable solutions.
Any other duty assigned by the Campus Safety Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Speak and write fluent English
Good verbal and communicative skills
Ability to write detailed incident reports
High School Diploma
Valid driver’s license
Ability to stay calm during all types of emergencies.
Associate’s Degree or higher
8+ years previous law enforcement, military, or security related experience.
D-license and G-license obtained
Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Able to sit for up to 8 hours at a time
Able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time
Able to work shifts of up to 12 hours
Able to drive/ sit in a golf cart for up to 8 hours at a time.
Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
Must be able to walk around IMG’s 400+ acre campus.
Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required.
Not guaranteed to have set days off, set shifts, to have 40 work hours per week or to have two days off per week.
