Waking up in the morning with alcohol hangover, is it wise to shake-up and go to work or fall back into your bed till you recover fully?

On a certain day of 2015, after our routine toolbox talk, a supervisor walked up to me to complain about one of his workers he observed had alcohol hangover.

I approached the worker, and asked him.

How are you feeling?

He said fine, I responded; You don’t not look fine.

As our discussion progressed, I learnt that he had drunk excessively the previous night, and the alcohol was still in his system.

In my knowledge of alcohol intoxication, alcohol cannot stay in the system overnight except it is consumed in very high volume. Though some systems tolerate alcohol more than others, this does not rule out the fact that high level of alcohol consumption is bad for your system.

Knowing the negative effect of acute alcohol intoxication like: Poor judgment, severe confusion, unpredictable behavior, stupor, etc. It is worthy not to allow intoxication interfere with your job.

Someone with alcohol intoxication is a hazard to himself and his fellow worker.

My candid advice, avoid alcohol during working hours. If you must drink after work, ensure that it’s in low quantity so that your body can metabolize it completely before the next day.

Alcohol can help you kill yourself or some other person. Alcohol can get you SACKED, so be careful while using it.

Now back to the question:

Waking up in the morning with alcohol hangover, is it wise to shake-up and go to work or fall back into your bed till you recover fully?

Recommendations:

Since you may not work successfully with alcohol hangover, I will advice you fall back on your bed till when you are in your right sense to work.

But staying back at home when should be at work can get you fired, so your best option is: Avoid alcohol if it will interfere with your job.
