Cummins Energy Solutions Nigeria Ltd, a gas power generation solutions firm, has marked 1 million man-hours without Lost Time Injury (LTI) as an organisation.
This was disclosed by the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager of the firm, Julius A. Akpong his LinkedIn post, adding that the feat was achieved in December 2019.
What is Lost time injury (LTI): Lost Time Injury refers to incidents that result in disability or an employee missing work due to an injury.
According to Akpong, the company held an event on January 22nd, 2020, to celebrate its employees as a way of expressing its gratitude for the achievement.
In his words: “I feel privileged to be part of this event and to have met this wonderful family in my lifetime,” Akpong wrote.
“My appreciation goes to all those who have joined as safety officers under me at different stages; Christopher Babayemi, Otoabasi Sunday, Habeeb Salaudeen, and now Philip Ogu; great guys you all are.
“I appreciate my bosses, Mr. Graham Christie, the General Manager and Mr. Dipi Khilnani the group Chairman, all the HODs and the entire team.

“I have committed my entire existence to the passion for saving lives and this event has reaffirmed my resolve to never look back”.
