“The health and safety community is tasked with a daunting job: helping every worker return home at the end of the day,” said Anne Beswick, group publisher for OHS Canada. “We’re inspired by the dedication, innovation, and creativity demonstrated by the OHS Canada Honours nominees year after year, and I’m confident 2025 will be no different.”
This year’s awards program will feature five new team awards:
- Best Eye Protection Program
- Best Head Protection Program
- Best Hearing Protection Program
- Best Heat Protection Program
- Best Cold Protection Program
In 2025, there will also be competition for the highly contested OHS Team of the Year, Contractor Safety Management, Psychologically Safe Workplace, Holistic Employee Health, Best Safety Communications Program, Best Use of Safety Technology, Best Hand Protection Program, Best Ergonomics Program, and OHS Culture awards.
The OHS Professional of the Year, Community Leader, OHS Rising Star, OHS Lawyer of the Year, OHS Educator of the Year, and CEO of the Year will each receive a separate award.
The Top 25 Under 40, which honors the young professionals leaving their mark with their commitment to health and safety and strong work ethic, and the Hall of Fame, which will welcome up to three new members, are also returning.
“It’s an honor to review every nomination and learn about the people, practices, and programs that are moving the needle on workplace safety,” said Brandi Cowen, editor of OHS Canada. “I look forward to working with our volunteer judging panel to identify the best of the best again in 2025.”
OHS Canada is also looking to add judges to the panel. If you’re interested in being a judge, please contact Brandi Cowen at [email protected].
